SANJANA SRIVASTAVA
SANJANA SRIVASTAVAAs its “Fashion and Style” we are focusing on here, let me begin with my concept of Fashion: “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but have your own style, you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” Make every day an occasion by dressing up when you step out. Being presentable always boosts one’s confidence.
Being “fashionable and stylish” is not being extravagant and flashy, it’s who you are. As it’s rightly said, “Style is a way to say, who you are, without having to speak.” Having always wanted to look elegant and stylish with a streak of uniqueness. I believe in the saying that “Your style defines you.”What is my style is not your style, it’s something that expresses who you are in your own way. Many a times, I have been recognized, admired, praised, and have received heartwarming rave compliments for the way I look and carry myself. I feel equally elated each time as it’s what most of us want or expect, that is, to be recognized and to stand out in a crowd! After completing my Bachelors in English Literature, I switched gears and entered the world of computers, which in those days was an obvious choice. I earned a Masters in Computer Science and began my career as an IT professional. However, even then I had a strong inclination towards fashion, stage performances, and everything creative and artistic. This is what I have always loved and enjoyed doing and still do. Both my parents are Doctors and my father was in the army. Having been raised in a military background, the importance of discipline and the need to be conscientious and cultured was instilled in me. I have constantly wanted to prove myself and my talents in everything I do and have a craving to master the skills I possess. The urge to be a perfectionist has always been a part of me, which at times can be stressful and a lot to handle.I have always been keen on being a part of an event where fashion is the highlight. Over the years, I’ve participated in quite a lot of stage performances and fashion shows, never wanting an opportunity to pass by. Despite this, I never thought of making this a career or profession as my priority has always been my family. Raising my daughters and devoting time to my family has always taken precedence – I believe in giving importance to family values, commitments and relationships.I have had a chance to participate in the MyShadi Bridal Expo organized by Desh-Videsh Media Group a few times. Last year, I had the opportunity to coordinate a fashion show as well as participate as a ramp walk model. This year, I am coordinating and choreographing the Fashion Show at the Fort Lauderdale MyShadi Bridal Expo on August 12. A truly challenging, exciting and thrilling exposure, one that I am looking forward to. It’s a complete team effort, so a big “thank you” to all the participants and with the hope the audience will enjoy it!
