Ravi Sanchoo was 16 and Amanda Devi Ramnarain was 15 when they met in 2003 during high school. They dated for five years. Then, one fine day, Ravi went down on one knee and with a ring in his hands asked Amanda for marriage. Tears sparkled in her eyes out of joy. She couldn’t have said no. To her surprise, Ravi asked her parents’ consent to marry her the night before he proposed.
The two were engaged for almost two years before they finally got married. Amanda says, “My mom did a better job than a consultant could have done.” However, wanting it all to be ‘just perfect’ was quite a stressful job, accepts the bride. The couple picked Orlando as the wedding venue Read More... |

The two families from two neighboring countries brought out long lists of traditions, almost doubling the civilities, and so the complications.
The Beginning
It all started with casual phone conversations. Nazreen would ring her friend Nida. Every time, Nida’s cousin Sharjeel would receive the call. The phone would eventually reach Nida, but not before Sharjeel flirted (decorously though) with Nazreen for a while. Over time, the casual flirting morphed into serious discussions. Many dates and discussions later, the couple decided to marry. Planning for an equally amazing day to solemnize the beautiful seven-year long relationship took another seven Read More...

They were brought together by garba. And a surprise trip to Venice took their relationship to the next level. A proposal under the Rialto Bridge, an engagement ceremony in India, and a grand wedding in Atlanta - Shruti and Hiren’s wedding is a fascinating fairy tale, indeed!
Thanks to Amit, a mutual friend of Shruti and Hiren Patel, the two met on a garba dance floor. They enjoyed many garba dances together for the years that followed. Long phone calls brought the duo closer, and the friendship
kept blooming.

A cruise ship offers not only an impressive location, but also the service and attention to detail that are needed to make your wedding unforgettable. Some of the most memorable cruises that I have experienced as a Carnival Cruise Lines representative have been the Indian weddings. We recently had the pleasure of welcoming the Mahtani/Dodani families onboard the Carnival Imagination 3 day cruise from Miami with their guests from many different countries. Read More... |

The Love Story
It was on a dance floor during a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas when Dino and Ekta met for the first time. The party, hosted by Young Sindhi Adults (YSA), offered the two fun-loving people the perfect chance to befriend each other. The following week of long feasts and dance parties only strengthened the bond. Dino’s confession, “One day I got to know from my Facebook wall that she visited Daytona a few weeks earlier without meeting me. I was annoyed. To compensate, she offered to buy me a drink the next time Read More... |

THE BEGINNING:
We met exactly one year before our wedding date, at a restaurant in downtown Chicago. We decided to get married about three months later. As soon as we met, we knew we were made for each other.
THE PROPOSAL
I came home from work on a Friday and found Jay in my condo down on his knees with a beautiful ring. There was a beautiful sign, romantic decorations, and even all new furniture everywhere. He and his friends worked all day to truly surprise me, and it was amazing.Read More... |

As I was walking down the aisle, various rushes of emotions swept over me. My first emotion was of love, as I saw my fiancée sitting, waiting anxiously for my arrival. Next, was respect and appreciation, as I saw my parents and brother smiling from cheek to cheek. My final emotion was that of awe, as I saw a gorgeous golden Mandap with aromatic flowers and vibrant colors that I felt were literally taken out of my dreams and placed right in front of me. I know women often say that they’ve been planning their wedding since childhood. I can honestly say that I am a testament to that. I used to watch Bollywood movies and dream of having my very own Bollywood wedding. I even travelled to India to help realize this dream; to make it a day my husband and I would remember for the rest of our lives. It actually was a day to remember. How ironic that in the sunshine state of Florida, we would experience one of the coldest days in Miami history. Read More... |

Most memorable moment during wedding When I was walking down the aisle and saw my mom, sister, brother, and brother-in-law at the mandap and the smiles on their faces. And of course my adorable nephew, Rishav, who had no clue what was going on! I walked into a friend’s birthday party in NYC and happened to notice a tall, indian guy standing in the corner with his friends. As I walked by, his cousin (whom I knew from Atlanta) stopped me to introduce me to the tall guy.! Read More... |

Amit and I met at the University of Florida while we were in our undergrad, and it was almost five years before he proposed... as his dad said, it is safe to say he takes his time! But after the fabulous proposal, the planning began. Amit planned a surprise trip to Lake Tahoe, NV. He chose Lake Tahoe because I had never seen snow. He never told me where we were going - just that it would be cold and to pack accordingly. Read More... |

We both moved to NYC for a dental residency program. There was an instant bond that grew stronger over the year that we worked together. After 3 years in New York City we both moved to different cities. He came to visit me in Florida and planned a weekend in Key West. It was a gloomy overcast day and he told me he booked a sunset cruise. As we went out to the pier, I realized it was a privately chartered sailboat. Read More... |
